Blackhouse – The Grill on the Square – 31-33 E Parade, LS1 5PS
Blackhouse is right at the top of our list for the best steak in Leeds, partly because we love the
unfussy style of the restaurant. It’s steeped in minimalist cool and gives the impression that it isn’t
trying to wow you, which makes it easy to relax. But what about the steak? Well, that really is
impressive! All the meat is sustainably sourced and of the highest quality – there are no tough cuts at
Blackhouse – and it’s cooked to perfection. Meals are presented beautifully and served promptly by
the friendly staff, for an experience you’ll want to repeat.
Gaucho – 21-22 Park Row, LS1 5JF
You’d expect an Argentinian restaurant to serve great steak, and Gaucho doesn’t disappoint. As soon
as you walk through the door, you can tell that this is an establishment that takes steak seriously –
the walls and chairs are covered in leather and cow print! If that sounds tacky, you might be
surprised because they’ve pulled it off and created a great look. The steak is fabulous. Genuine
Argentinian cuts that melt in your mouth and go down easily… as do the very reasonable prices.
Stockdales of Yorkshire – 8 S Parade, LS1 5QX
Stockdales is the place to sit down to the best Yorkshire-bred steak in the city. The Yorkshire Waygu
is incredible – the kind of full-flavoured and tender steak that you dream about. Animal welfare is of
prime importance to Stockdales, and every steak is traced from farm to plate, with assurances that
it’s been raised in as natural a manner as possible. In fact, it’s clear from the staff and owners that
there’s nothing but love for good food and great service on offer here. We cannot recommend
Stockdales highly enough!
With so many options for a decent steak in the local area, it was quite hard to narrow it down to our
top three, but we’re sure that you won’t be disappointed with any of these restaurants. We’d love to
