Spring is springing and it’s time to wake up and shake off the remains of a long winter by planning some great days out with your family. As always, our favourite city (yes, we’re biased!) has plenty happening this Spring, so for fabulous events for people of all ages, here’s a quick rundown of what’s on in Leeds over the next couple of months.
Northern Ballet: Casanova – 11th-18th March – Leeds Grand Theatre, 46 New Briggate, LS1 6NU
Based on the acclaimed biography of the same name, Casanova has been brought to life by author Ian Kelly, and choreographer Kenneth Tindall. Be one of the first to see this spectacular extravaganza of a ballet before it goes on tour throughout the world.
The Stranglers – 17th March – Leeds O2 Academy, 55 Cookridge Street, LS2 3AW
For over 40 years, The Stranglers have been delighting audiences with their own brand of post-punk rock, and on 17th March they bring the show to the O2 Academy in Leeds. You can expect a high-energy performance with leader of the band, Hugh Cornwell, churning out all the hits from Golden Brown and No More Heroes, to Always the Sun and Peaches.
Ilusio the Magician – 8th April – Grosvenor Casino Leeds, Wellington Bridge Street, LS3 1LW
A short stroll outside of the main city centre will find you at the Grosvenor Casino in Wellington Bridge Street, where Illusio the Magician will be providing an evening of magic, mystery and entertainment. Be warned though, it’s not a show for the faint-hearted!
Russell Howard – 9th April – First Direct Arena, Arena Way, LS2 8BY
The cheeky and chirpy star of BBC’s Russell Howard’s Good News finds himself in Leeds this April, where he’ll be bringing his inimitable brand of comedy to the First Direct Arena stage. Fun, risqué, entertaining and topical, Russell Howard is one of the stars of British comedy for good reason – don’t miss this show!
Diversity: Genesis Tour 2017 – 15th April – First Direct Arena, Arena Way, LS2 8BY
Also at the First Direct Arena, dance troupe, Diversity, will be thrilling the audience this April. Seven years after winning Britain’s Got Talent, this incredibly skilled, funny and original dance act have produced a show that surpasses anything they’ve ever done – they really are getting better and better – so don’t miss this opportunity to see them in a great venue like the First Direct Arena.
