Unusual nights out in Leeds

Leeds Town Hall is a Grade 1 listed building in the city centre of Leeds England

We all love a night at the cinema followed by a nice meal and a few drinks, but what if you’re looking for something a bit different for your evening’s entertainment? Maybe you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, or there’s a crowd of you and you’re all up for a good laugh?

In this blog we’re going to give you the lowdown on some of the more entertaining and unusual nights out in Leeds city centre.

MFA Bowl Leeds – Merrion Centre, 13 Merrion Way, Leeds, LS2 8BT

Whether it’s a first date ice-breaker or an office party, ten pin bowling is an ever-popular night out. MFA Bowl in the Merrion Centre has everything you need for an evening of fun, from American and English pool tables, decent pub grub, an amusement arcade, a dance floor for hire, and, obviously, bowling alleys! It’s great value with three games of bowling for around a tenner and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

West Yorkshire Playhouse’s Wardrobe Dept – 6 St Peter’s Square, Leeds, LS9 8AH

If you’re a regular theatregoer you’ve probably marvelled at the amazing costumes on display and maybe even wondered how you would look wearing them yourself. Well, West Yorkshire Playhouse gives you the opportunity to live out that fantasy by opening up their wardrobe department to the public! Situated above The Wardrobe Bar on St Peter’s Square, the costume department offers costume hire for parties and special occasions, but even more interestingly, the chance to hire the whole place out for parties!

7 Greek Street Social – 7 Greek Street, Leeds, LS1 5RW

You may be wondering why we’re including a bar as part of our blog on unusual nights out. Well, what if we told you that 7 Greek Street Social is a concealed bar that you can only gain entrance to by discovering both the hidden phone and secret number? Successfully do so, and if you’re lucky, the barman will give you directions to get in…

Once inside you’ll be treated to a fine cocktail menu along with some excellent craft beers and wines. Although the bar is only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm, we think it’s worth a visit to get your night heading in the right direction.

Leeds is a great city for a night out, offering a wide range of interesting venues and a friendly welcoming vibe. If you drive you can leave your car with us at Trafalgar Street, where our manned 24-hour service will take care of it for you. We do encourage you to be drink aware, though, so always have a designated, non-alcohol quaffing driver as part of your group!
