Thai food offers something for everyone…

Like any modern city, Leeds is home to a vast array of fine restaurants to suit any mood and every taste. This week we’ll take a look at a cuisine that’s famed for its delicately balanced flavours, juxtaposed with searing chilli heat! What else could it be but Thai!? Below we’ve listed our five favourite Thai restaurants in Leeds, and they’re all a hop, skip and a jump from us at Trafalgar Street car park.

Chaophraya – 20A, Blayds Court, Swinegate, LS1 4AG

Recently renovated, Chaophraya is renowned for its consistently high quality food and knowledgeable and friendly staff. It’s not the cheapest Thai food in Leeds, but it’s well worth paying a little extra for the standard served here. If it’s your birthday, tell the staff and you’ll get the surprise of your life ─ it’s not for the shy and retiring types though!

Sukhothai – 15 South Parade, Leeds LS1 5QS

Sukhothai’s right up there vying for the Leeds top spot with Chaophraya; another high class but friendly and welcoming establishment serving delightful Thai cuisine. The menu’s vast and tailors to everyone ─ their vegetarian options are particularly popular. The service will make you smile too and even at the busiest times you’ll be served quickly and efficiently.

My Thai – 43 Wade Lane, Merion Centre, LS2 8NJ

My Thai is all about the food. It’s a tiny little place that’s more cafe than restaurant, but that doesn’t mean there’s any compromise on the taste – quite the opposite in fact! It can take a while to be seated and served here, but that’s simply because it’s so popular and the food’s so authentic and delicious. The staff are friendly, but at the busiest times can be a little rushed.

Thai Edge – 7 Calverley St, LS1 3DA

A beautiful and traditional little restaurant with a family atmosphere serving authentic Thai cuisine with a smile. How does that sound? Thai Edge may not be the most fashionable Thai restaurant in the city, but we love it. With a mouth-watering menu of over 145 dishes, we’re sure that you’ll find enough to bring you back time and time again.

Line Thai Oriental – 39 Great George Street, Leeds LS1 3BB

The phrase ‘hidden gem’ could have been written specifically with Line Thai Oriental in mind. Tucked away down Great George Street, this quaint little restaurant may be in need of a spruce up, but it serves some of the finest and most authentic Thai food anywhere in the north, let alone Leeds. The consistency and quality of the food belies the low prices. Without a doubt one of the best value-for-money meals in Leeds.

If you fancy trying out these great restaurants, why not drive into Leeds and drop your car with us at Trafalgar Street car park. We’ll take perfect care of it for you so you can enjoy your meal and then get back home without waiting for a bus or train.
