Thai restaurants in Leeds

Leeds is one of the country’s most multicultural cities, and one aspect of that diversity is wonderful food. There really is something for every palate in the city – and by ‘something’ we mean food that will blow you away with its quality! This week we’re going to explore the best Thai restaurants in Leeds city centre…

My Thai Leeds – 43 Wade Lane, Merion Centre

This tiny no-frills restaurant in the Merrion Centre doesn’t look like much, but it has a great reputation for serving some of the best genuine Thai food in Leeds. The service is excellent, the food is consistently wonderful, and it’s a cracker for great value. We know that once you try My Thai you’ll be hooked.

Sukhothai – 15 South Parade, Leeds, LS1 5QS

Sukhothai manages to mix contemporary design with traditional Thai to create an atmosphere that’s perfect for anything – from a romantic meal with a loved one, to a business lunch with your team. The food is excellent, with vegetarians and gluten-free diets well catered for, the service is attentive and friendly, and the prices are competitive. Award winning owner and head chef, Ban Kaewkraikhot, previously ran a top restaurant in Bangkok and has successfully transferred that style to the heart of Leeds.

Chaophraya – 20A, Blayds Court, Swinegate, Leeds, LS1 4AG

Chaophraya is about eating the best traditional Thai food in spectacular surroundings. Everything about the Chaophraya experience is designed to make you relax, let go and enjoy yourself – but, of course, the food is always the star of the show! We recommend this great restaurant for a large party, because they have a private room with sunken seating that adds to the authentic dining experience.

Thai Aroy Dee – 120-122 Vicar Ln, Leeds, LS2 7NL

When a Thai restaurant is regularly frequented by the local Thai community, you know that the food is worth waiting for – and you might have to wait for it here because the service is a little slow compared to the others on our list. Don’t let that put you off though, because the food is spectacular. Simple surroundings and great food at a bargain price is what Thai Aroy Dee is about.

We hope that you get to try some of these great Thai restaurants in Leeds – maybe you could book a table at the weekend?!
