Events in Leeds in February

After the fun and partying of Christmas and the New Year, you might feel like taking it easy throughout January. By February, however, you’ll all want to get out and have some fun again, right? Let’s have a look at some of the events in Leeds happening this February – there’s something for everyone!

The Not So Late Show – The Wardrobe, 6 St. Peters Square, Leeds LS9 8AH, 2nd February

If alternative comedy is your thing, the Wardrobe plays host to one of the most unique and hilarious spoofs of an American talk show you could ever wish to see. Hosted by the brilliant Ross Brierley and Joshua Sadler, The Not So Late Show features everything from sketches and music to short films, talking babies and dead celebrities! It’s not a night for the faint-hearted, but you’re guaranteed to laugh yourself silly!

Fairport Convention – City Varieties Music Hall, Swan Street, Leeds, LS1 6LW, 4th February

If Slipknot is a little too hectic for you, you might prefer the gentle folk sounds of Fairport Convention. Formed in 1967, the band has seen many line-up changes over the years but they’ve always had a very loyal following. Their Liege and Lief was voted Radio 2 listeners ‘most influential folk album of all time’.

Slipknot – First Direct Arena, Leeds, LS2 8BY, 13th Feb 2016

If you fancy something with a bit more energy, Slipknot are also playing the First Direct Arena in February. Renowned not only for their Grammy award winning music but also their outlandish costumes and incredible staging, Slipknot never disappoint their audience.

Leeds Ice Cube – Millennium Square, Leeds, until 21st February

Open now until the end of February, Leeds Ice Cube is a great way to introduce ice skating to the whole family. With over 500m2 of real ice, lessons for all abilities, and refreshments available on site, we thoroughly recommend a day out here – great for a date or a laugh with family and friends.

The X Factor Live Tour – First Direct Arena, Leeds, LS2 8BY, 26th Feb 2016
