Leeds Easter Events 2017 – fun for all the family!

Pile of colorful Easter eggs

The Easter holidays are coming and you’re probably wondering how to keep your little ones amused while they’re off school. Fortunately, there are plenty of Leeds Easter events that will give you a great range of activities to enjoy with all the family.

This week we’re going to share our favourite family-friendly entertainment that we’re sure will put a smile on all of your faces this Easter.

Whooo’s In The Hooose?! A Dr Seuss-Inspired Experience – 14th-17th April – Leeds Town Hall, LS1 3AD

This Easter, The Film House inside Leeds Town Hall will be host to an extraordinary experience for all the family. Dr Seuss has been entertaining families with his madcap poetry for decades and Sneaky Experience, along with Leeds Young Film Festival, has managed to capture all the energy and fun of the books to create an interactive event that will have you and your kids rolling with laughter.

Medieval Easter at The Royal Armouries – 9th-17th April – Armouries Drive, LS10 1LT

The Royal Armouries have a range of exciting medieval events in store for the intrepid family this Easter. Ever wondered what it was like at a jousting tournament? Well, this Easter you can watch three knights battle it out in classic tests of skill and honour – a visual feast that may inspire your kids to want to be a knight in training themselves! Strike while the iron’s hot and enrol your 5-11 year old at Knight School where they’ll learn the fine arts or jousting, sword fighting and archery this Easter. If you fancy something a little less brutal, you could head down for one of the many falconry displays on throughout the Easter break, where you can watch birds of prey swooping around and even handle them under supervision!

Opera North: Opera Challenge – 3rd-7th April – Leeds Uni, LS2 9JT

Are your children natural performers? Are they always singing and dancing around the house? Well, perhaps Opera North’s Easter Challenge is exactly what they need this year! Give your 8-13 year old kids the opportunity to be a part of creating an opera from start to finish in just five days this school holiday with this unique event designed to promote the art of opera to a new audience. Your children will work with skilled practitioners, build new friendships and create something they can be proud of.

We hope this varied selection of Leeds Easter events inspires you to try something a little different with the family this year – leave your car with us at Trafalgar Street car park and head off on a family adventure, and watch the holidays fly by!
