Christmas shopping in Leeds

Girl Christmas shopping with boxes

Over the years, Leeds’ reputation as a shopping hotspot has justifiably grown. As the country’s third largest city we have a wonderful mix of large department stores and chains, high-class boutiques and small independent stores – there really is something for every taste and budget.

A day trip to Leeds to do your Christmas shopping will result in a car full of great gifts, and memories of a day out in a friendly and welcoming modern city. Let’s have a look at some of the shopping highlights…

Victoria Quarter – 4 Cross Arcade, LS1 6AZ

This beautifully ornate Victorian parade in the heart of the city houses some of the finest names in high street shopping. With stores ranging from the luxury chocolatiers, Charbonnel et Walker, and tailors to the stars, Hawes & Curtis, to the famous Harvey Nichols and Mulberry, the Victoria Quarter is where you go to buy a special (and expensive!) gift for your most loved ones.

Trinity Leeds – Albion Street, LS1 5AT

As evidenced by the Victoria Quarter, one of the features of shopping in Leeds is the quality of the malls. They’re all well designed, making them a pleasure to visit, and Trinity Leeds is no exception with its massive glass roof creating a light and airy space populated by top-quality establishments. From Apple and Bose, to Mango and Moss Bros, Trinity’s some 120 stores and restaurants make it possible to do your entire Christmas shop under one roof – great news on those cold winter days!

Leeds Corn Exchange – Call Lane, LS1 7BR

This visually beautiful grade I listed Victorian building is one of the most spectacular places to shop in Leeds. The ethos of the Corn Exchange is to encourage independent artisan stores to flourish under one roof, and, as a result, you’ll find everything from drum and guitar shops to boutique fashion, alternative culture and jewellery stores here.

Crash Records – 35 The Headrow, LS1 6PU

Music is always a popular Christmas gift and Leeds is lucky enough to have two independent music stores to choose from. Our favourite is Crash Records on The Headrow, where you’ll find a great selection of classic and modern music to choose from. They have a thriving vinyl selection for the aficionados amongst you, as well as the usual CDs.

This is just a tiny selection of the great places to go Christmas shopping in Leeds, but there are loads more to choose from too – so come along and leave your car with us at Trafalgar Street Car Park, and we’ll keep it safe while you work through that shopping list.
