Things to do in Leeds – October 2017

Summer may be over and you’re probably thinking about saving your pennies for Christmas, but that
doesn’t mean that there aren’t some great things to do in Leeds this October to tempt you out for
some fun.
Let’s take a look at what autumn in the city has on offer…
The Souljazz Orchestra – HiFi Club, 2 Central Rd, Leeds, LS1 6DE – 2nd October
On 2nd October the HiFi Club in association with ATC Live brings you a night of extraordinary fusion
music that will have you shaking your thing all over the dance floor. Expect an eclectic and original
mix of soul, afro, latin and jazz with lyrics that’ll make you think, laugh and cry… as well as dance
until you drop! The Souljazz Orchestra has been expanding and improving for the past 15 years and
is now a class live act that will blow you away. Tickets are just £11, and of all the things to do in
Leeds this October, we think this is the best bang (and boogie) for your buck!
Speed Dating Leeds – Chino Latino, Boar Lane, LS1 5NS – 7th October
If you’re struggling to find ‘the one’ via traditional dating means, or you find internet dating leaves
you cold, it may be that speed dating is for you. It’s fast, furious, and lots of fun – in fact, it’s a great
night out even if you don’t find anyone special. Fastlove has been running these events for a decade
now, and they’re very well received by everyone who attends. They’re professional, split into
sensible age groups, and might just give you the best three minute date of your life!
Live Pianists at Curve Bar – Curve Bar, 4 Eastgate, LS2 7JL – weekends in October
Start your weekend with something chilled and sophisticated at Curve Bar in Eastgate, where you
can sup on cocktails, kick back and relax to live music. From 9 pm every Friday and Saturday night
you’ll be entertained by a live pianist and vocalist playing a mix of relaxing sounds that will wash
away the stress of the week… of course, the cocktails might help too!
