One thing you can guarantee is that there are always plenty of summer events in Leeds to choose from, and this year is no different.

Let’s dive straight in and see what’s on offer for everyone – whether you’re looking to keep the kids occupied, or fancy planning a fun night out with friends.

Leeds Salute to Reggae at Millennium Square – August 2nd, Millennium Square, Leeds

This summer Millennium Square will play host to the largest free open-air reggae concert in Europe, and you’d be crazy to miss it! Running as a special addition to the ever-popular Leeds West Indian Carnival, this event will feature some of the best local and national artists, like Barry Boom, Janey Kay and Royal Blood.

Meet the Maker Masterclass – Warwick Smith of Renegade Wines – August 24th, Harvey Nichols, Leeds

One of the most eagerly anticipated summer events in Leeds is this winemaking masterclass with Warwick Smith – joint owner of Renegade Wines in London. Since 2016, Smith and partner Josh Hammond have been changing the face of wine production by shipping wonderful grapes in from across Europe and producing the wine themselves in a project known as an urban winery. Leeds Record and Book Fair at Kirkgate Market – August 11th, Kirkgate Market, Leeds

The second Saturday of every month is a nirvana for vinyl and book lovers, with Leeds record and book fair taking up the events’ space inside Kirkgate Market. This great event features music from every genre on the 50 tables of vinyl, and when you’ve had your fill you can check out one of the ten tables of books too. What’s better than a night in playing new discoveries and reading a great book!?

Roller disco at Kirkgate Market – August 28th-31st, Kirkgate Market, Leeds

Roller discos are making a huge comeback, and Leeds is getting in on the act with the return of this brilliant fun family event to Kirkgate Market. Four nights of music, wheels and falling over begin on 28th August and cost just £3.50 (plus booking fee) for a 30-minute session. Be quick, though, because it’s first come, first served!
