A great alternative to the Merrion Centre Car Park in Leeds

Here at Trafalgar Street car park, we’re committed to providing a safe and cost-effective parking experience for visitors and residents of Leeds – and for this reason, many of our valued customers have chosen us as their top choice as an alternative to the city’s Merrion Centre car park.

A popular shopping destination since it was first opened in 1964, the Merrion Centre is located right in the heart of Leeds, making it a must-visit on your day out in the city. With a wide variety of retail outlets and leisure activities, there’s something for everyone – here’s a round-up of what’s on offer.

Bag a bargain

The Merrion is the place to go if you need any general homewares or other practical bargains – which means it’s great news for students, especially with its close proximity to Woodhouse Lane and the nearby student haunts. You have Poundworld, Home Bargains, The Yorkshire Linen Company and even a Wilkos just over the road. There’s also The Works for cut-price books and arty bits and bobs – or a Ryman’s for more serious stationery needs.

There are a few places to hunt for a new outfit too – check out Peacocks, with clothes for all ages and styles, Claire’s Accessories, Ethel Austin and Shoe Zone. The centre also plays home to a decent sized Morrisons if you want to pick up something for dinner while you’re there!

Eat and enjoy

If you fancy eating on the hoof, Greggs and Neros come in handy – but if you’re tempted by a long lunch or want to stretch your day out into the evening, Bulgogi Grill, Fab Cafe or Lab Bar – though take it easy on the lovely ale if you’re driving!

There’s also a nightclub, a bowling alley and a gym if you remembered your kit!

Looking great

There are a variety of both men’s and women’s hairdressers, two nail bars for that A-lister look and a Boots and Superdrug for cosmetic and health supplies – not forgetting a Holland and Barrett and an acupuncturist if you favour the holistic approach!

In addition to the selection of stores, the shopping mall is also very close to Leeds First Direct Arena. If you’re heading to the arena for an event, and want to while away the afternoon in town, our parking services offer a really cost-effective alternative to the Merrion Centre car park, with our day tickets just £7 on weekdays, £5 on Saturdays and a very reasonable £3 on Sundays. We’re just a 7 or 8 minute walk from the Merrion Centre and just a few moments more to the First Direct – making it a very easy round-trip!
