Cinemas in Leeds

Cinema ticket, popcorn and movie reel

When you’re considering a night out, a trip to the flicks is probably not a million miles away from your thoughts. Fortunately, there’s a great selection of excellent cinemas in Leeds, offering everything from the latest blockbusters to art house and classic movies. Let’s take a look at what’s on offer…

Everyman Leeds – 4, Trinity Leeds, Albion St, LS1 5AY

Everyman aims to make your entire movie-going experience much more enjoyable and luxurious than the average multiplex. With plush seats, cushions and little side tables for your bottle of wine or beer!), a trip to Everyman makes watching a movie as comfortable as being at home. They may be a little more expensive, but it’s worth the extra because they offer a fine selection of classic, indie and Hollywood movies throughout the year.

Vue at The Light – The Headrow, Leeds LS1 8TL

Offering everything a modern multiplex cinema should, The Light’s Vue is one of the most well known viewing venues in Leeds. We think that it may have the best projector and sound of any of the regions’ movie houses, and is our number one choice if we’re going to see the latest blockbuster. Look out for some of the event cinema showings too – there aren’t many cinemas where you can watch ballet, enjoy a night of opera, or see a TED event!

Leeds International Film Festival – Leeds Town Hall, The Headrow, LS1 3AD

Okay, so the town hall isn’t exactly a cinema, but every year in November it plays host to Leeds very own film festival. It’s a chance to watch some great classic movies, fan favourites, art-house indie short movies, human interest documentaries and foreign language films in stunning surroundings. It’s worth checking out the town hall website for their yearly ‘what’s on’ programme because they occasionally host other short film festivals through the calendar.

As well as these great options in the city centre, there are a couple of excellent independent cinemas in Headingley (Cottage Road Cinema) and Hyde Park (Hyde Park Picture House) just a short hop away – so next time you fancy a movie, why not leave your car with us at Trafalgar Street car park and make a day of it. We’re one of the cheapest car parks in Leeds – fully-manned all-day, with 24/7 access, no barriers and 24-hour surveillance… so you know that your pride and joy will be safe with us!
