Pirates, Pants and Wellyphants: The Illustrated Wo at Leeds Central Library – until 25th Nov, Leeds Central Library
Finding ways to entertain the kids during the colder months is always a bit of a challenge, but if your little ones are avid readers there’s still an opportunity to catch this fantastic exhibition of Nick Sharratt’s work. As one of the most loved and successful illustrators of children’s books, Nick has decided to share his journey from a child who loved to draw to his current status in this interactive free exhibition.
Jersey Boys at Leeds Grand Theatre & Opera House – 20th Nov – 1st Dec
If it’s a spectacular night of music coupled with a spellbinding performance you’re after, we can heartily recommend Jersey Boys – the musical that’s taking the whole country by storm! This true life story of four likely lads who wrote and performed their own brand of musical theatre is showing at the stunning Grand Theatre and Opera house this autumn – it’s a must see show!
Blancmange – The Wardrobe, Leeds, 29th Nov
One of the pioneers of the synth-pop sound in the 80s, Blancmange have always produced extraordinary – almost otherworldly – music, and after 2017’s Unfurnished Rooms it seems that they’re in no rush to slow down. The Wardrobe is the perfect venue for this one-off show, which makes our list for one of the best autumn events in Leeds, because this incredibly important band really deserves the coverage. Head on down, you won’t be disappointed.
La Discotheque – Canal Mill, Leeds, 1st Dec
Is it possible to have too much glitter and glam in the world? Not if you’re La Discotheque! This award-winning disco carnival will be bringing its unique take on house, disco and the full-on carnival atmosphere to Canal Mill this autumn, so get your sequins on and be prepared to shake your thing all night long!
